Hey! so you want to wear your baby! Congratulations!
Next question? “What size do i wear? is it a size 8 if i wear an 8?”
NO!!! Woven Wraps are sized based on meters.
Length ( meters)
2.0 – 2.2 m
2.5 – 2.7 m
3.1 – 3.3 m
3.7 – 3.9 m
4.2 – 4.3 m
4.6 – 4.9 m
5.2 – 5.4 m
5.5 – 5.8 m
A base size is the size you can comfortably do a front wrap cross carry. The best way to find this size is through experimentation and playing (YES!! #PETALLTHEWRAPS!!) with wraps. You can find your local lending library or you can go based on your T-shirt size
A size 4 is the base size for those wearing XS or S t-shirts. If you are wrapping a toddler, you may want to go up to a size 5. You don’t have to be petite to enjoy this size. If you find yourself preferring shorter carries that are still to long to use a shorty, this may be perfect for you.
A size 5 is the base for those wearing S or M t-shirts. If you wear size M and are wrapping a toddler, you may want to size up to a size 6.
A size 6 is the base size for those wearing Medium, Large, and XL t-shirts. If you weigh more than 180 lbs and are either wrapping a toddler or have broad shoulders or large breasts, you may want to size up to a 7.
A size 7 is the base for those wearing XL or 2X t-shirt size and will be perfect for all of the full length wrap carries. It can also be used by someone who normally uses a size 6 but wants more wrap for tandem babywearing, or doing extra long carries.
A size 8 is the base for those wearing 2X or 3X t-shirts.
A size 9 is available by some of the wrap brands, and is a great option for parents who find a size 8 to be enough. Most companies offer 9s and larger by request. Doesn’t hurt to try.
And THATS IT! So simple right? Now go wear your baby!
